Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Akkari handles personal information when you visit our site, use our service, or otherwise interact with us - and the limited role we play with the data our customers connect to Akkari.

Effective: May 22, 2026 Last updated: May 22, 2026 Operated by Tekara, Inc.
01

Overview and scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Tekara, Inc., a Delaware corporation that operates the Akkari product ("Akkari," "we," or "us"), handles personal information in connection with our website, applications, and services (the "Service").

Akkari handles personal information in two distinct roles, and it matters which one applies to you:

This policy covers the information we handle as a business deciding how it is used. It does not cover the data our customers connect to Akkari to run their own customer operations - we handle that only on the customer's instructions, and the customer is responsible for it.

As a business (controller) - covered by this policy. When you visit our website, sign up for or administer an Akkari account, contact our sales or support teams, or receive our communications, we decide how and why your information is used. This policy describes that.

As a service provider (processor) - not covered by this policy. When Akkari ingests data from a customer's connected systems to run customer operations for that customer, the customer (your employer, or the business you are dealing with) controls that data and decides how it is used. We process it only on that customer's instructions. If your information appears in a customer's Akkari account because they use the Service, please direct privacy requests to that customer; our handling of that data is governed by our agreement and Data Processing Addendum with the customer, not by this policy.

02

Who we are

Akkari is a product of Tekara, Inc., a Delaware corporation, located at 1032 E Brandon Blvd #4125, Brandon, FL 33511. For any privacy question or request, contact us at legal@tekara.ai. For personal data we process on behalf of a customer, that customer is the controller - see Section 1.

03

Information we collect

When we act as a controller, we collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Account and profile information - your name, work email, job title, company, and the credentials and settings associated with your account.
  • Billing and transaction information - billing contact details and subscription records. Payments are handled by our third-party payment processor; we do not store full payment card numbers.
  • Usage and device information - log data, IP address, browser and device type, pages and features used, and similar analytics, collected automatically when you use the Service or visit our site.
  • Communications - information you provide when you contact sales or support, respond to a survey, or otherwise correspond with us.
  • Prospect and marketing information - business contact details we collect or obtain, including from public sources or partners, to evaluate and pursue potential customer relationships.

When you connect a third-party tool to Akkari, we also receive limited information such as authentication tokens and account identifiers, used to establish and maintain that integration.

04

How we use information

We use personal information we collect as a controller to:

  • provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service and our website;
  • create and administer accounts and authenticate users;
  • process payments and manage subscriptions;
  • respond to support requests and send you service, security, and administrative messages;
  • send marketing communications about Akkari, which you can opt out of at any time;
  • understand how the Service is used and develop new features;
  • detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical problems; and
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

Where the law requires a lawful basis, we rely on one or more of the following: performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving our business, your consent (for example, for certain marketing or cookies), and compliance with a legal obligation.

05

AI and customer content

The Service uses artificial intelligence, including models operated by third-party AI providers, to generate summaries, recommendations, drafts, and other outputs. We do not use customer content to train AI models, and the third-party AI providers we use do not train their models on that content under our agreements with them; we will train or fine-tune AI models on customer content only with the customer's opt-in. This policy concerns personal information we handle as a controller; the content a customer connects to Akkari is handled as described in Section 1 and under our agreement with that customer.

06

Cookies and analytics

We and our analytics providers use cookies and similar technologies on our website and in the Service. Some are essential for the Service to function and to keep it secure; others help us understand usage and improve the product. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, through our cookie controls. Disabling some cookies may affect how the Service works.

07

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share personal information only as follows:

  • Service providers and subprocessors - vendors that help us run the Service and our business, such as cloud hosting and infrastructure, AI model providers, analytics, payment processing, email and communications, and customer support tools. They may use the information only to provide services to us and must protect it.
  • Legal and safety - when we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, safety, and security of Akkari, our customers, or others.
  • Business transfers - in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy or a successor policy with comparable protections.
  • With your direction or consent - when you ask us to share information or otherwise agree to it.

We may also create and use aggregated or de-identified information, which does not identify any individual, for analytics and to operate and improve the Service.

08

Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain your account, and fulfill the purposes described in this policy, and then we delete or de-identify it - unless a longer period is required for legal, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution purposes. Retention of the data a customer connects to Akkari is governed by our agreement and Data Processing Addendum with that customer.

09

Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, appropriate to its nature and the risks involved. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You can help protect your account by keeping your credentials confidential and your devices secure.

10

International data transfers

We are based in the United States and may process and store personal information there and in other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where we transfer personal information from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we use appropriate safeguards, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect it.

11

Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information - including to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of it, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. To make a request, email legal@tekara.ai; we will respond as required by applicable law, will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, and may need to verify your identity first.

If your personal information was provided to Akkari by one of our customers, please direct your request to that customer; we will assist them as their service provider.

  • EEA, UK, and Switzerland. Our lawful bases are described in Section 4. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
  • California and other US states. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under state privacy laws. You may exercise the rights described above and may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
12

Children's privacy

The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version, revise the "Last updated" date above, and, for material changes, provide additional notice - such as by email or through the Service.
